I’m a journalism student at GSU (State, never Southern) with a concentration in public relations, the dark side of journalism, and a minor in English, even though I already speak it.
Genres I Dig
- 90s Alt Rock: Serve me any alt 90s one hit wonder, and I’m fed. Bands include Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots and the previously mentioned one hit wonders like Harvey Danger and Blind Melon.
- Lo-Fi/Bedroom Pop: We stan a DIY project. Favorite artists include Gus Dapperton, Omar Apollo, TV Girl, Her’s, zack villere and I could go on for pages, but I’ll stop here.
- Folk Punk: Give me something that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Bands like Violent Femmes and the Dead Milkmen give me life. “Bitchin’ Camaro” is an anthem.
- Modern Rap/R&B: Sometimes you need a rhythmic groove. Great artists include our father Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Kevin Abstract, and Roy Blair.
- Classic Rock: This is a default genre. Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty to name a few specifics.
